15) Add a new
Raster Layer by going to Layers > New Raster Layer or clicking on
the New raster Layer icon on the layer palette.
Click on the
canvas and the text entry box will open.
Type in your text and click ok.
16) Add an
Inner Bevel to the text using the following settings:

17) Position
the text where you want it. You should now have something like this:

18) Add a
Drop Shadow to the text using the following settings:

19) Go to the
layer palette and turn off the visibility of the bottom layer
(should be Raster 1) then right click on layer above and go to Merge
> Merge Visible
20) We're now
going to crop the image.
Click on the Crop
Tool. On the Tool Options, click on the Snap crop rectangle to: Layer Opaque.

You should
now have this:

Go back to the tool
options and click on the tick to crop the image.

Your image will now
be cropped.
21) Go to the
layer palette and unhide the bottom layer. Flood fill this layer
with a colour of your choice.
22) Go to
Image > Add Border and use the following settings (changing the
colour to a colour of your choice)
Click ok.

A warning
will appear saying the layers need to be merged before a border can
be added, click ok.
23) Go to the
layer palette, right click on the background layer and duplicate.
Turn off the visibility of the copy of background layer and click on
the background layer to make it active.

24) Now zoom
in on the picture. Using the Dropper Tool, choose the colour of the
skin, next to the eyes. (the following screenshots are of the dolls
reflection in the mirror)

25) Now
choose the Paintbrush Tool and set the size to 1. Paint out the
eyes, leaving just a few dark pixels at the bottom of the eyes.

26) Repeat
the above steps on the main dolls eyes. you should now have the
following:

27) Unhide
the copy of background layer and save the image as a PSP file.
Open Animation Shop and open the image.
28) Click on
frame 2 and go to Edit > Copy. Now click on frame 1 and go to Edit >
Paste > Before Current or click on the icon

29) You will
now have 3 frames, the 1st frame is the doll with her eyes open, the
2nd frame is the doll with her eyes closed and the 3rd frame is the
doll with her eyes open again.
Right click
on frame 2 and go to Frame Properties. Set the speed at 20.

30) Right
click on frame 3 and go to Frame Properties. Set the speed at 155.

You can now
click on the View Animation icon and check out your blinking doll!
31) Save as a
.gif and you're done :o)
