Prelude To A Kiss
For this tutorial you will need:
PSP 9 &
Animation Shop 3 - You can download a free trial of both programs
HERE
The picture I used or any picture you choose.
I used art by Josephine Wall...You can find her site

The art I used is called Prelude to a Kiss and can be found

The gradient I used HERE (If this gradient belongs to you, please email me so I
can give you credit or remove it, whichever you prefer) Unzip the gradient into
your gradient folder.
Font 1 -
Brock Script This is a
free font.
Font 2 -
Carpenter Please Note:
This isn't a free font. Feel free to use any font you choose.
1) Open a new canvas. Use the following settings:

2) Set your foreground colour to #a45e94. To do this, click in your foreground colour box and type the colour number in the html box.

3) Flood fill your canvas

4) Go to Effects > texture Effects > Blinds and use the following settings:

5) Add a new raster layer by going
to layers > New Raster Layer or by clicking on the new layer icon on your layer
palette

6) Use your selection tool to make a thin, horizontal selection at the top of the canvas

7) Go to Selections > Modify > Expand

8) Expand the selection by 4 pixels

9) This is what you will have:

10) Set your foreground colour box
to
and
flood fill the selection

11) Add a new Raster Layer then make a thinner horizontal selection, under the first.

12) Go to Selections > Modify >
Expand and expand the selection by 2 pixels.
Flood fill with the gradient.

13) Right click on Raster 3 and click on Duplicate

14) Use your mover tool to move the copied line above the original line:

15) Turn off the visibility of raster 1 and right click on raster 2. Go to Merge > Merge Visible.

16) This is how your layer palette will look:

and this is how your canvas will look.

17) Right click on the Merged copy and click on Duplicate
18) This is how your layer will look:

19) Use your mover tool to move the duplicated lines down to the bottom of the canvas.

20) Open a new image using the following settings:

21) Flood fill it with any colour you like. I just used the pink that was already there.

22) Go to Edit > Copy
Click on your first canvas to make it active and go to Edit > Paste As New Layer
This will put the shape exactly in the middle of the canvas.
You can close the pink shape without saving as we don't need it anymore.

23) Go to Selections > Select All then Selections > Float

24) Open your picture and use your selection tool to make a selection roughly the same size as your pink shape.

25) Go to Edit > Copy
Click on your first canvas and go to Edit > Paste > Into Selection.
Add a new raster layer.

26) Go back to your picture and
press the undo icon to remove the first selection you made.
Make another selection from a different part of the picture and go to Edit >
Copy.

27) Go back to your first canvas
and go to Edit > Paste > Into Selection.
Add a new raster layer.

28) Go back to your picture, click
on the undo icon then make another selection from a different part of the
picture.
Go to Edit > Copy.

29) Go back to your first canvas and go to Edit > Paste > Into Selection

30) This is how your layer palette will look:

31) We now need to rename The
Merged layer and the Copy of Merged layer. Right click on the merged layer and
name it bars1.
Right click on the Copy of Merged layer and rename it bars2.
Now right click on Raster 1 and click on duplicate. Repeat so you have 3 layers of Raster 1.
Duplicate the bars1 layer so you have 3 layers.
Duplicate the bars 2 layer so you have 3 layers.

32) Drag the layers so they're in the same order as the screenshot.

33) Turn off the visibility of the top 8 layers and right click on Raster 1. Go to Merge > Merge Visible.

34) This is how your layer palette will look:

35) Turn off the newly merged layer and turn on the visibility of the next 4 layers. Right click on Copy of raster 1 and go to Merge > Merge Visible

36) Turn off the visibility of the
newly merged layer and turn on the visibility of the last 4 layers.
Right click on Copy of Raster 1 and go to Merge > Merge visible

37) Unhide all layers and your layer palette will look like this:

38) Add a new raster layer then using your selection tool, make a rectangle selection at the top left of your canvas.

39) Flood fill it with pink

40) Add an inner bevel using the following settings:

41) Go to the layer palette and duplicate the new layer.

42) Use your mover tool to move
the new shape to the bottom right of the canvas.
Using your selection tool, make a selection in the centre of the top left shape.

43) Go to Selection > Modify > Feather and use the following settings:

44) You will now have this:

45) Go to your picture and choose
another part of it that you would like to copy and paste.
Make a selection then go to Edit > Copy

46) Click back on your canvas and go to Edit > Paste > Into Selection

47) Repeat on the bottom left shape, using a different part of the picture.

48) Rename the new layers, 1 & 2.

49) Duplicate both layers so you have 3 of each layer and position them as in the screenshot:

50) Turn off the visibility of the top 6 layers and right click on the bottom merged layer. Go to Merge > Merge Visible

51) Turn off the newly merged layer and turn on the next 3 layers. Right click and go to Merge > Merge Visible

52) Turn off the visibility of the
newly merged layer and turn on the top 3 layers.
Right click on the merged layer and go to Merge > Merge Visible.

53) Turn on the visibility of all layers. Add a new layer and name it text.

54) Set your background colour box to

55) Set the foreground box to Null. (Null means no colour)

56) Click on your text tool and use the following settings:

Click on your canvas and the text entry box will open. Type your text then click ok. Position your text then go to Selections > Select None.
57) Add an inner bevel to the text using the following settings:

58) Add a drop shadow to the text using the following settings:

59) Change your text options to the following:

Click on your canvas and the text entry box will open. Type your text then click ok. I typed Prelude To A Kiss but you can type anything you like. Position your text and go to Selections > Select None.
60) This is how your canvas will look:

61) Right click on your text layer
and duplicate it. Repeat so you have 3 layers of the text.
Position them as in the screenshot:

62) Turn off the visibility of the top 4 layers and right click on the bottom layer. Go to Merge > Merge Visible.

63) Turn off the visibility of the
newly merged layer and turn on the visibility of the next 2 layers.
Right click and go to Merge > Merge Visible.

64) Turn off the visibility of the newly merged layer and turn on the visibility of the top 2 layers. Go to Merge > Merge Visible.

65) Turn on the visibility of all layers.

66) Save as a PSP file.

67) Open the sig in Animation
Shop. Go to Edit > Select All then Animation > Frame Properties.
Set the frame properties to 100.

Save and you're done :o)
