Crop Tool
To
see the printer friendly version of this tutorial, click
HERE
We're going to look at
two ways the Crop Tool can be used
Open PSP and open a
picture. I used a picture that comes in the My Pictures folder with
Windows

Click on the Crop tool

Click on a part of the
picture that you want to crop and keeping the mouse button pressed, make
a selection around the picture

This selection is quite
big so to make it smaller, move your mouse over the lines of the box
selection. The mouse will turn into a double headed arrow. Keeping the
button pressed, drag the line down until it's closer to the iceberg. Do
this with all four lines

 |
PSP 7
Now go to your tool
options box and click on Crop Image
|
| |
PSP 8 Double Click
outside of the crop box |
Now your picture will
be cropped

Ok, now we're going to
crop again but this time we're going to crop an image that's on a
transparent background.
Open your picture in
PSP

Click on your Crop Tool

 |
PSP 7
Go to your tool options
box and click on Crop Settings
|
 |
PSP 7
A new window will open.
Click on Select opaque
area - current layer.
Click Ok
|
 |
PSP 8 Click on the
'Snap crop rectangle to: - merged opaque' button |
You will see a box has
appeared around your picture

 |
PSP 7
Go back to your tool
options box and click Crop Image and that's it, your image will be
cropped and you can save :o)
|
| |
PSP 8 Double click
outside of the crop box. |
