Open a new image

Set your foreground colour to #008000

Set your background colour to #c00000

Click on your text tool and use the settings ion the screenshot.

Click on your canvas. Type your text in the text entry box. Click ok.

Add an inner bevel to your text by going to Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel and using the settings in the screenshot.

Move the text towards the bottom of the canvas using the mover tool.

Open the Santa tube. Click on the copy icon.

Click back on your canvas and click on the Paste As New layer icon.

This is what you should now have.

On the layer palette, drag the Santa layer below the text layer.

Use the mover tool to position the Santa so he's just under the text.

Click on the text layer.

Go to Layers > New Raster Layer.

Switch the colours on your materials palette by clicking on the little arrow.

Click on the preset shapes tool. Select a speech bubble and draw it on the canvas.

Make sure the speech bubble layer is the selected layer....

then go to Image > Mirror.

This is what you should have.

Add a new raster layer.

Set your background colour to mcq Cell and your foreground colour to null (null means no colour)

Click on your text tool and use the settings in the screenshot.

Click on your canvas. Type HoHoHo! in the text entry box then click ok. Go to Selections > Select None.

Add a new raster layer.

Turn off the visibility of raster 4.

Click on your canvas. Type Merrrry in the text entry box, click ok then position it. Click on the canvas again to make the text entry box appear and type the word Christmas then click ok. Position it underneath the word Merrrry.

This is how your layer palette should look now. Turn off the visibility of the 2 text layers.

Right click on the Santa layer and go to Merge > Merge Visible. Now right click on the merged layer and go to Duplicate.

Move the HoHoHo! text layer above the bottom Santa layer. The visibility of the top 2 layers needs to be off. Right click on the bottom merged layer and go to Merge > Merge Visible.

Turn off the visibility of the newly merged layer and turn on the visibility of the top 2 layers. Right click on one of the visible layers and go to Merge > Merge Visible.

Turn on the visibility of the bottom merged layer.

Click on the crop tool. Click on the 'Snap Crop Rectangle to Layer Opaque'

This is what you'll have.

Click on the tick to perform the crop.

Add a new raster layer.

Flood fill it with white. Right click and duplicate it. Position the layers as in the screenshot and turn off the visibility of the top 2 layers. Right click on the bottom layer and go to Merge > Merge Visible.

Turn off the newly merged layer and turn on the top 2 layers. Right click on the white layer and go to Merge > Merge Visible.

Turn on the visibility of the bottom layer.

Save as a psp file.

Open the file in Animation Shop. Go to Edit > Select All then Animation > Frame Properties. Set the Display time to 120.

Save and you're done :o)
